Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would love to give my students more of Mo Willems’ hilarious books about frantic, silly, and hilarious Elephant, Piggie, and Pigeon. Mo Willems has a special way to reach children. His books bring them so much joy, smiles, and laughter and they beg me to read them again and again. Through simple language, he reaches kids in a unique way and instills a love of books.

I would love to be able to add more Mo Willems books to our wonderful classroom library!

Students would take great pride in being able to read the book on their own and share their joy with friends and family. My students are ELL learners and Mo Willems allows them to be independent readers who learn about reading with emotion and showing feelings through reading!

My students learn not only how to read and be engaged, but also how to write in a new way! They love creating speech bubbles and creating their stories not just with words, but with pictures, just like Mo!
