This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love the excitement in my students voices when the talk about their library books! It is awesome when they find a new book with a favorite and familiar book character! Our school library is always out of Mo Willems books. The students check them out as soon as they return to the bookshelves.

I am requesting more Mo books for my students such as Elephant and Piggies Happy Pig Day, Pigeon Finds a Hot Day and Knuffle Bunny.

These books will go directly onto our library shelves so more of my students can check out books about their favorite book characters. These books will improve my students vocabulary, comprehension, and reading fluency. My hopes is that all my students can checkout the book they want when the visit the library to help them develop a deep love of reading.
