My Students
My students come from a high-poverty area. They face many challenges at home and in school. Many of them are lacking in basic school supplies. Most are low academically, but they come to school every day, ready and eager to learn.
I want my students to have the best third-grade experience possible.
Our school budget is very small, and I buy a lot of materials myself. I need some help to give my students what they need to be more successful in the classroom. I cannot control what my students experience outside of school, but, while they are in my classroom, I strive to provide them with everything I can to make them feel cared for and successful.
My Project
Recently, our CD player for our Listening Center died and I am requesting a new one, along with books on CD and new headphones. Our Listening Center is one of my students' favorite parts of the day. We do Listening Center four days per week so our CD player, CDs, and headphones get lots of love!
Our Listening Center allows students to travel to new places, experience new things, and meet new favorite characters.
These items will be used to continue sparking my students' love of reading and to help them continue to grow as readers.
