Instruments and Parachute for Music Making Fun!

My Students

Our students are smart and creative, and come from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school itself is a performing arts magnet, and students have the opportunity to take music, movement/dance, drama, and media weekly, and they are eager to learn and to be creative. Over 75% of our students receive free/reduced price lunch. In music class, we work on enjoying and playing music together, fostering musicianship and playing together in an ensemble. We sing, play instruments, and move to the beat! Our goal is to create lifelong artists, learners, and good citizens!

My Project

This project will provide floor tom drums and a parachute to play in music class! We spend our time in music singing and playing instruments, students get SO excited to play all the instruments they see in music class!

With this floor tom drum and parachute we will learn steady beat, form, to read rhythms, to play in ensemble, and to improvise and create music!The drum will be added to our instruments to provide extra instruments for students to choose from; they are both small and made to be strong and durable for little hands.

The parachute will allow us to do FUN music activities while also teaching about form, and working together!
