My students are a wonderful group of bright, hard-working and inquisitive kids who truly enjoy using technology and online resources on a daily basis in our classroom. Students are realizing that more and more careers of the future are going to require them to be savvy with technology and they ask to use the Chromebooks all the time. However, I do not have a class set of them in my classroom.
Therefore, my students want access to Chromebooks on a daily basis to help them to be able to research information as needed, learn concepts via interactive online tools, in addition to creating and completing alternative assessments.
My Project
Currently our classroom can usually only reserve a Chromecart to be used once a week. Over the years I have created Donors Choose projects in order to try to purchase Chromebooks that can be kept in our classroom for every day use as needed and I currently have 10 Chromebooks from doing this. However, this is not enough for the students to use individually. Receiving these Chromebooks from this project will help the students to have access to more Chromebooks on a daily basis.
The students need access to Chromebooks on a daily basis in order to perform research and to type/create projects.
Therefore, if we can purchase more Chromebooks for the classroom, the students will have more access.
