My Project

My classroom library is in need of a SERIOUS makeover! My current library books have been "well loved" by many readers from previous school years and many of them are falling apart. My book options could really use a refresh and I know this would motivate my students to explore our library more as well.

My students deserve to have new books that are in good condition for them to enjoy.

The 5th graders particularly enjoy graphic novels, as well as reading books that are part of a series. I hope to provide them with a lot of different options to choose from so that when they find a book they like, they can continue reading from that series as they foster their love of literature. I also want to provide them more opportunities to read nonfiction, so I have carefully chosen specific books which relate to content and people that they are interested in.

I cannot wait to get this project funded so I can surprise my students with a bunch of new and exciting library options to choose from!
