Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach mild/mod special education grades kindergarten- 4th grade. My students range from intellectually disabled, specific learning disabilities, orthopedic impairments, and speech and language impairments. Each of my students has their own unique strengths and interests, that make them stand out from the rest. They work hard to achieve their goals at school.
My students love it when books are fun and engaging with colorful pictures; especially when the books are about a movie or show they have watched.
My goal for this project is to get a variety of books that are based on movies. This gives my students background knowledge of what the story is going to be about. My students love it when I read them The Nightmare Before Christmas and Elf. I want to continue this interest by providing them with more high-interest books.
