My Students
"Practice makes perfect." Reading is just like any other skill in life. Our students need to practice more reading in order to increase their reading skills.
We are a class composed of English Language Learners with special ed students.
Many of our students are native Mandarin and Spanish speakers. Many of them need help in acquiring the new language as they only have a chance to speak English in the school setting.
My Project
We are requesting level A books and Curious George books. Being a new school, we had very little budget for books and materials. We don't have a rug. So we are asking for level A books for students to practice their reading over and over. Reading level A books, can help students move into level B books. Reading these books repeatedly will help fluency, recognize high-frequency words, and increase vocabulary books. Curious George books will help increase reading interest for students, as they love characters. Basically, we need more books!
Make a difference by helping give students resources to help increase literacy.
Literacy paves into other content areas, even math! English Language Learners often lack resources at home. Let's stand together and give them all the resources we can! Thank you!!!!
