My Students
The original artist books that were donated by Donor’s Choose have been such a success! We have read all the books and learned all about the wonderful artists!
We have been using the artist books, as forms of research, among other resources, to incorporate art history into our art lessons.
We gather into groups of four and take turns reading the book. We absolutely love learning about the artists this way!
My Project
I would like to continue using this method of art research in my classroom by adding more books about artists. I know my students would love to have additional artists books as forms of research.
My students need the “Getting to know the world’s greatest artist” books by Mike Venezia (Scholastic) on the following artists: Da Vinci, Rivera, Lichtenstein, Dali, Michelangelo, Kahlo, Rembrandt, Lawrence, Chagall, Gauguin, Wood, Ringgold, Renior, Valasquez, Pissarro, Lautrec, Botticelli, Goya and Moses. We need 4 copies of each book so my students can collaborate with each other.
It is important to give students the opportunity to learn through discovery.
