Montessori Sewing Lab

Help me give my students sewing machines and sewing supplies for a sewing lab that will help them learn focus and concentration, math lessons, fractions, practical life lessons, and measurement.

My Students

My students are in a public Montessori Charter school. These children are energetic and loving children. Montessori philosophy teaches children through the use of hands-on materials and practical life lessons. These practical life lessons strengthen concentration and the ability to function in everyday life.

My students love school and love to learn through practical life lessons.

Many of these children come from homes where they have to help their parents take care of siblings and have to be independent at home. Learning these skills at school will help them now and in their future.

My Project

I will take these supplies and arrange them in the classroom in a welcoming way. The children will be able to quietly and independently be able to choose when they want to work on a sewing project. Theses materials will allow them to learn math, reading skills, and practical life lessons.

Children need a time to be creative and reflect on fun projects in the classroom.

My dream has always been to do sewing activities with my students. This project will help fulfill this dream and give my students a great opportunity to learn new skills that will carry on throughout their lives.
