Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With this project I am hoping to acquire some hands on materials for learning place value.
With these materials students will create and model numbers into the thousands using stamps and numeral placards.
These tools will accompany our golden bead bank game. Students work together playing the roles of banker and customer, after the banker retrieves the requested number of thousands, hundreds, tens and ones the banker and customer can stack the wooden placards to reveal the numeral that represents the quantity they have built. As an extension of the bank game these materials can create receipts using the stamps. Exciting, cooperative, educational, and most of FUN! Thank you for considering our project.
