My Students

My students are bright and inquisitive fifth graders in a small, rural town outside Portland, Oregon. Our 4-6 school feeds into one middle school and a single high school. The fifth-grade team works together to foster a warm and welcoming environment where students are taught empathy, acceptance, and kindness. My students are building their educational foundation.

Many of the jobs my students will fill do not exist today; they will need an array of skills.

We are empowering these students to create, to disrupt, and to enter a swiftly changing world.

My Project

My students are currently in a comprehensive distance learning model. Having two monitors will allow me and my teaching partner to see the students on one screen while presenting the lesson on the other.

It is important to see students so we can track understanding and engagement while they are learning remotely.

We can provide more engaging activities where we can see student responses and facial expressions. The extra monitor provides a platform where we can record the lesson without breaching the confidentiality of the students' homes and identities.

Distance learning has been a challenge for families and teaching staff. Please help ease some of the burdens by providing a tool that will support active engagement and learning.
