This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a vibrant group of 3rd graders. They are a group of hard-working, talented, and energetic students that love to come to school. They are constantly asking questions, exploring, and making sense of the world around them, all while learning a second language.
My students love to sing, dance, laugh and express their learning.
Something that we pride ourselves on at our school is the joyful learning happening in all classrooms! What we may lack in resources we try our best to give our students other opportunities to learn and grow.
My Project
I will use the materials and lessons provided in the Financial Literacy kit to teach much-needed and crucial financial literacy skills. Third grade is a great time to introduce these principles in a fun and engaging way that’s memorable and relatable. Students will participate in the games, engage in meaningful conversations and while learning more about money. I like that it aligns with the priority standards of our state and will go with the math curriculum as well. Although these materials will only be used at school, the conversations will be extended to the home and will spark great conversations.
