This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in the 3rd grade and need to learn how to manage their money, how to budget, and how to save. Teaching my students how to manage their personal finances will help them be prepared for the future.
Our school is a Title 1 school and the majority of students qualify for a free lunch.
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home structures. Some of the students in my class are not working at grade level in reading and/or math. My students are eager to learn and enjoy anything that has to do with technology and hands-on activities.
My Project
My students love anything that has to do with technology and hands-on activities. With your kind donations, my students will be able to have access to 2 Kindle Fires to learn about financial literacy. With the Kindle Fires and multiplication/ division practice boards, they will also be able to understand the basics of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing which are very important skills they need to understand money. Learning financial skills now can help my students spend wisely, save more, and make good financial choices in the future.
With the Kindle Fires and multiplication/division practice boards, my students will have access to many websites that offer games for children that teach them about financial literacy.
They will also have math applications that will help my students do everything from adding, subtracting and counting money to understanding basic economic investments and building a financial vocabulary.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
