This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Find a penny, pick it up. All day long, you'll have good luck." I'd like to teach students the value of money and how to manage it.
I have 24 students whose native language is Spanish.
They are mostly on free or reduced lunch. They love coming to school because they know they will be singing and dancing (while learning, of course.) My students rely on us to teach them new things and keep them safe.
My Project
Students will be exposed to the idea of money in kindergarten. Your donation will bring Money Sudoku, Making Cents Money Game (CD-ROM), puzzles, books in English such as Just Shopping with Mom (Little Critter Series), and books in Spanish such as Alexander, Que Era Rico El Domingo Pasado, and manipulatives about money.
Your donation will bring us Money Sudoku, Making Cents Money Game, puzzles, and books in English and Spanish about money.
In kindergarten, we are not required to teach the concept of money. Since money (and lack of) affects everything we do in our lives, why not start having money talks in kindergarten?
