Money Skills Are Lifelong Skills

Help me give my students the opportunity to put their classroom economy knowledge to the test in an end-of-the-year auction.

My Project

In our classroom, we have a classroom economy. Each student has a new classroom job each week. If they have successfully fulfilled that job for the week, they get paid at the end of the week for their work. Students also get paid for completing work and showing up to school. At the end of each month, they have to pay rent for their desks. We also practice taking out loans when we need them.

By having a classroom economy, we are practicing lifelong responsible money skills.

My hope is for them to create a positive relationship with money that they can take with them. At the end of the year, we will participate in an auction, where they will be able to spend their hard-earned "money" in a playful, rewarding way. The auction will be filled with items received through this project.
