This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your first chore and allowance? If you do, you must have a solid concept of finances and economics. For my students, learning about money is the hardest concept in third grade. Hands-on activities and games seem to help build a good concept about money and how to save or spend wisely

My students are smart, driven, and very verbal.

They are 95% Hispanic and 5% African American. Most of them do not have a computer or other technology at home. They are exposed to violence and socioeconomic limitations, like lack of food, that others take for granted. Our school provides a safe environment away from gangs and other socioeconomic limitations. In my classroom, they get to dream and the sky is the limit. They've planned future traveling plans, designed their dream homes, and have become celebrated community heroes. The classroom is a safe haven where dreaming high is encouraged. Nothing is impossible when they dream, write, and share their future plans. They would thrive as enthusiastic learners if they are provided with the memories that will last a lifetime. They will experience and recollect their memories in a whole new way.

My Project

Learning about how to invest, acquire, and finance money in the third grade has proved to be one of the most challenging skills learned. Making change with play money is nearly impossible without having the chance to play with plastic money. My students need more resources like the requested ones: Trend Learning Charts U.S. Money Equivalency, Teacher's Pocket Charts Piggy Bank Money, Money Chart, and Carson-Dellosa Bulletin Board Sets U.S. Money, Money Math Practice Power, Money Matters Resource Book. They will practice paying exact change and make change with coins and bills. They will be given the chance to explore, pretend to go shopping, and also learn to be savvy costumers. I want all my students to leave the classroom knowing how to save, invest, and acquire monetary skills at an early age. They will learn about production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services so that one day, they can become entrepreneurs, financial advisers, and savvy costumers

They can learn to be part of an economy that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services, or the material welfare of humankind. We need them to learn to save and invest their hard earned cash wisely. Please help me fund this project so that my students can be savvy customers and entrepreneurs one day.
