This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 3rd graders struggle to understand the value of coin and money in general. They do not understand the difference between a want and a need so I would like to start a financial system in my classroom to demonstrate both of those things. First, my students need to understand the value of coins and paper money. They will then need to be able to make change and add money together. Lastly, making the classroom into a monetary classroom where needs and wants are met with money to provide a real life experience.
