This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students do not even have pencils for art class! This is a high poverty school and the students need materials in order to be successful learners in the classroom! I want to give them an art experience that they will remember and learn from!

My students come from families who are struggling and can not afford to buy their children art supplies.

The school is a Title I, high poverty school and we don't have very many usable materials in the art room. Please help me give the students an opportunity to learn about science, math, and art! The project will incorporate symmetry, color mixing, butterfly life cycle, and ART! Students will learn about Monarch butterflies, their life cycle, and what symmetry means. They will also learn how to mix primary and secondary colors on a color wheel. Lastly, they will draw and paint their own Monarch butterfly that demonstrates symmetry!

My Project

The resources I am asking for are basic art supplies: pencils, drawing paper, tempera paint, paint brushes, and a reference book for visuals. It is so important to support the arts in school especially with kids who do not have the opportunity to be creative anywhere else! I am asking for your help to support the arts in education, especially in an art room where we integrate art with other academics to support learning everywhere!! Thanks for your help!

The Monarch Butterfly project is important because it provides students with a way to learn about science, math, and art together!

Students retain what they learn when they are having fun and it is important to support other academic areas in special areas such as art because it will help the students learn about a butterfly life cycle, symmetry, and mixing colors! Thank you for your support in helping me help the students!!
