Mom, We Love You!

My students need craft supplies for Mother's Day. I am asking for magnetic picture frames, a pot holder kit, and planters with seeds and soil.

My Students

The at home school connection is so important! What better way to keep the communication open than to send home great mother's day gifts to those very deserving moms!

My students live in a low social-economic area and attend a Title One School.

This means that over 80% of the school population is on free or reduced lunch. I have a very sweet group of students who love to give to others, but seldom get the chance to do so.

My Project

Every May I struggle to find the perfect Mother's Day project for my students to complete. A normal school day is so busy with Reading, Math, Spelling, and Science that the students will enjoy a project break to help celebrate their mothers. I was excited to find magnetic picture frames, pot holder kits, and planters with seeds for kids to create from scratch the perfect gift for their mom. Most of these students would not normally be able to afford a gift for their mom.

Being a mom myself, I know firsthand how important gift giving is to children.

A child loves the chance to say that they did something all on their own. They can learn a very valuable lesson that giving is better than receiving!
