This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am writing to express a heartfelt request for your support in the form of a donation of books in both Spanish and English for our diverse group of students at Garden Pilot Academy. As a Spanish as a Foreign Language and a Visual Art teacher at our school. I have the privilege of working with a wonderfully diverse group of students, many of whom speak Spanish at home. Our student body comprises those born in the United States, newcomers to our country, and others students who are learning Spanish as a Foreign Language. Recognizing the importance of fostering cultural connections and promoting literacy within our community, we are seeking to establish a collection of books that can serve as a bridge between school and home.
Reading together with their parents in both Spanish and English will not only strengthen the language skills of our students but also deepen their cultural understanding.
Your generous donation will enable us to create a culturally rich and inclusive reading environment that resonates with the diverse backgrounds of our students. It will empower families to engage in shared reading experiences, promoting a love for literature and reinforcing the importance of maintaining linguistic and cultural connections.
