My Project
Mole Day is a biannual occurrence, and one day falls on the school year. Every year I offer extra credit for students to, at their own expense, create their own mole mascot, a small stuffed animal that reminds them of why the mole concept is so important to chemistry. However, some students miss out and others who complete the assignment have to find the time and resources to do it on their own. So this year, taking advantage of my singular chemistry class, I took advantage of that and tried to provide resources for everyone to do this activity. Along the mole-lympics and other mole-related activities, this capstone activity and classroom artifact is an empowering and endearing activity that lets students create a tangible object to represent this abstract concept.
This donation will bring equity across chemistry classes so that all students have access to this activity.
This mole project is a memorable activity, and everyone who participates will have fond memories of their creation. By providing to this project, you will allow all students to do this activity and proliferate the power of the mole across all sections!
