My Students

Who isn't affected daily by weather? Understanding weather is a universal human need. Our newly built school is in need of appropriate manipulatives to help our students understand the world around them!

Meadow View is home to a diverse population of students, with a large military enrollment.

Many of our students lack resources and opportunities in their homes to explore the world around them. We are a Title I school, where the majority of our students are considered economically disadvantaged. A Science Lab is crucial to satisfying a child's natural curiosity. It allows all of our students, K-5, the opportunities to question, wonder, problem-solve, create, and ultimately achieve scientific literacy. Our students love technology and have many dreams for the future, that only hands-on experiences can enhance.

My Project

"Molding Meteorologists" is one key element in establishing a K-5 Science Lab. The materials will be open to all grade levels. Exploring weather systems/patterns and climatology are key to making daily decisions about clothing, travel, and housing. Our goal as educators is to create independent thinkers who can make informed decisions. Our state's goal is that all young scientists design and solve problems, as well as analyze and evaluate their own solutions. What better way to accomplish these goals than by providing students with authentic learning activities that foster problem-solving and critical thinking. The study of weather integrates wonderfully with math. Studying weather allows students to observe and graph data and trends. Einstein shared, "I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious." We understand that few will become meteorologist, but all children are scientists because they remain "passionately curious"!

Your generosity will allow us to enrich the lives of our students and will be more than a monetary investment.

You are investing in a future work force who is able to think independently and critically. A person who is able to foresee and prevent problems is a true asset to any company!
