Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In September, I will be a third year teacher to 25 Kindergarten students. These students attend a school in a very high poverty school district and are in desperate need of school supplies to enhance their fine motor development and creativity.
During afternoon centers last year, I noticed my students loved to build and form objects out of clay dough. Since I only had two tubs to offer my students, the clay dough was well-worn by the end of the school year and in no way reusable for the upcoming school year. I would love to be able to offer my incoming students the ability to develop their creativity through play with clay dough.
With the classroom clay dough set in a variety of colors my students could work with their fellow classmates and build anything that comes to their imagination. The tool kit will develop their fine motor skills and the Alphabet cut outs will build upon their literacy skills as they work creatively.
With your donations this can be possible for my students. I thank you in advance for your generousity and the role you played in the development of my Kindergartener's creativity and motor development.
