My Students
My students are from the inner city of Washington, D.C.! The school has more than 80% of its students receiving free or reduced lunch. We are a school that strives to serve low-income families to the fullest extent.
Every day that my students walk into the room, we are reminded to leave our worries at the door and get ready to learn.
We love to dance and sing. We love listening to characters take on new adventures and we love making connections to the world around us!
My Project
These materials are an important element in the preschool classroom. The play dough will continue to help my students exercise the muscles in their hands. This is important as it builds confidence and endurance when writing. They can use their imagination to create. They will use oral language to describe what they made and how to use it.
The counting mats included in this project help reinforce quantifying and number recognition.
The students will use the play dough to create objects to match the numbers on the mat. They will learn to match quantities, add on and check for completion.
