Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help my students access modern technology by providing this working laptop with a color printer. Students need to design resumes to apply for Magnet Programs as well as summer programs that are offering scholarships. Unfortunately, most class laptops proved to them do not charge and definitely do not have touch screens. Students will sign up to use the class laptop and print their resumes or flyers. I am also the Student Government Leader for my school. So this one laptop will go along way to help a lot of students.
Student Government needs color flyers.
Have you ever tried to run for class president with black-and-white flyers? I have taught the students how to design relevant flyers using Canva - this laptop and printer will allow them to see their hard work in color. Being a Title 1 school means things like color printers and modern technology are hard to come by. I am excited to offer this to my class even if it is only one at a time!
