This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are taking part in a very exciting journey of opening up a brand-new STEAM school in Ventura County.

They are highly interested in transdisciplinary activities and units of study that incorporate all subject-areas and address real-world, relevant issues.

I provide my students with a STEAM-based education that is focused on something I call 'P-based Learning' (personal, place, problem, project, proximity).

They enjoy working on problems and projects that have a personal significance and is in a place that is near and dear to them (such as our school and surrounding community).

Thank you very much for taking the time to get to know my class and for your support in furthering their education.

My Project

Our class is learning about sound waves and the concept that 'sound is vibration'. I am requesting a MIDI controller and percussion box for our STEAM-y classroom.

These instruments will demonstrate the concept that 'sound is vibration' both physically and digitally.

They will also be used to create original songs for learning concepts in our class.

In the near future, we will be collaborating with other classes and grade-levels to fabricate instruments that will be used in music creation and drum circles (recorded with my 360-degree camera) for an immersive and interactive experience.

My students will also learn about digital music production and how it can be a viable career or recreational activity.
