My Project

I have 15 students in a Special Education program who have difficulty staying on task and require a comfortable space with modern technology to stay engaged. My classroom has no outside lighting and and feels like a cell when the fluorescent lights are turned on. I am requesting for lamps, LED strips, and a TV to make a creative space. I believe that students in 2023 will greatly benefit from an atmosphere that looks similar to that of their favorite content creators on social media or YouTube.

My students are from a demographic that is focused on surviving paycheck to paycheck.

My goal is to make a space where they can feel comfortable to be creative and be able to work under the least amount of stress possible. I believe that students are most stressed in spaces where they do not feel comfortable. Having been a high school student in 2019, I know from experience that my motivation to work is hindered in classrooms where no creative space exists.
