My Project

I am new to teaching 6th-grade science at a new school. I wanted to get some updated classroom decoration and organizational materials to help my students be excited about a new classroom and have a fun learning environment. My goal is that they will see all of the cool classroom items and be excited to be involved and learn. I want to use the adjustable lamp to create a lighting environment that is suitable to the kids' learning styles. Some students are sensitive to light and the lamp will help me be in control of the amount of light in the classroom. I thought the fish tank would be a neat idea for my students to have a class pet and also learn some responsibility by caring for the pet. The organizational box will allow the students to practice their organizing and store some of our larger materials in the classroom before leaving for their next period. This year, I will be teaching the students to use binders and the hole punch will help them complete this task more efficiently. I wanted to use the lights to create a cool-down area for the students that could also double as a reading area when they have completed their assignments. I have also included some supplies to do poster projects and biome boxes, which is one of my favorite activities. The kids get to make a biome out of a shoe box and can you use the moss and animals to make their box realistic. Sometimes students aren't able to purchase all of these cool materials so I wanted to make sure everyone has some and didn't have to worry.
