Modern 3D printing!

Help me give my students modern 3d printers- we have some OLD pla printers, but these things require "tweaking" and "fiddling with" on a daily basis to keep them printing. Resin printers are the way to go.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students will be first year high school robotics team participants. Many of these students will have had no prior experience with robotics. These students have an interest in engineering, problem solving, coding, and organized chaos!

Students who join the robotics team usually go on to achieve great things.

Every student from our graduating class of 2021 who was accepted to a "top tier' college was also a member of the robotics team. Coincidence?

My Project

These materials will start my students on both a robotics path that will potentially lead to creating AI and/or programming for the Internet of Things and a philanthropy path in conjunction with Makers-for-Change. You may remember us for asking for tons of PLA which we turned into over 10000 units of PPE face shields which were then donated to hospitals and similar during the first months of the covid outbreak. We are now making fidget items for hospitalized children to have something to play with if they feel up to it. As far as robotics, we make our own parts here using very old PLA printers. These printers are currently held together with duct tape and a myriad of aftermarket parts. They require constant repair to keep running. We would like to move toward resin printers, both for the ease of use and the accuracy of produced parts.
