Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a low-income neighborhood in Houston's East End area, attend a Title 1, Part A school and are also enrolled in the Dual Language Program. They work very hard to accomplish their yearly goals. As their teacher I do my best by providing them with differentiated instruction, with materials provided, to target their individual needs. Although this year will be a different start to our Kindergarten year, I know that this won't stop them to be engaged in our virtual activities.
My Project
As a Kindergartner teacher, I am always trying to find new ways to help assist my students and their needs. I would like to be provided with an iPad and the keyboard, in which I would be able to model how to access apps that we use in the course of our school year. With the OSMO I would be able to present the iPad and other activities because it will allow me to use it as a document camera from home. By downloading the app ‘Explain Everything’ on the iPad I will be able to do sketch notes, record, teach, explain, and present lessons to my students. The pencil will be a tool to help me model handwriting practice.
These items will allow me to have a better virtual connection and teaching with my students and their families as we face a different back-to-school year.
