My students need a DNA model, a meiosis model, and two posters of mitosis and meiosis.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Collins's classroom raised $304
This project is fully funded
I teach high school biology in an inner city public school. My students greatly enjoy doing different activities in class. Unfortunately with tight budgets, extra materials are not readily available.
In my biology class we talk about several different topics and concepts. My students enjoy the hands on activities and labs rather than note taking and worksheets. Being able to see what we are talking about, instead of reading about it also helps them to understand better. Activities that include putting together objects, or exploring models help my students gain a deeper understanding of the material. Meiosis and mitosis are difficult topics as it talks about DNA, chromosomes, cell division, and several steps in the process.
With some models, my students will have the opportunity to go through the steps of meiosis and mitosis. They will also have the opportunity to build a strand of DNA, seeing how the different nucleotides fit together. By doing instead of reading, I believe my students will be able to better grasp these concepts.
Your donation will help with understanding the many concepts of mitosis and meiosis for my students. Your support helps my students to achieve their greatest potential in biology.
