My Students
My young artists come from many of the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago! We have such a diverse community from all over the city yet, our school feels like close knit family!
The students that I teach are so excited to experience the process of making and creating art that they hardly notice they are becoming artists themselves.
They are eager to learn new skills and experience materials that are new to them. We create magic moments, memories, and laughter, as well as art in the art room!
My Project
We all know that this has been a tough couple of years for our students- and the best way to bring out the best in them is to create space and opportunities for this to happen.
This supplies is for a fantastic assignment in which my 8th grade students create a "model toy" from a drawing that a first grade buddy made of their "imaginary friend
This is such a great learning opportunity for both classes, and creates such warm moments! The 8th graders really take care and love to painstakingly recreate these drawing into something really special!
