This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are still working to fill the gaps left by missed instruction during the Covid shutdown and interruptions in learning. They need creative and critical thinking activities along with social interaction. They are mostly bilingual so language development is also very important. Our school library is small and serves all student in our building, preK-4th grade, along with all of the faculty and staff. There is no room for a Makerspace area to be set up in the library as a permanent fixture. A mobile Makerspace would be able to be rolled out and used at tables in the library, as well as checked out and used in classrooms by teachers.
