This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love my students! My students are the reason why I love teaching. They walk into our classroom every single day with smiles on their faces. They are always eager to start the day. I always ask them, "Who is the best class?" and they reply, "We are!"
I have always let them know that I believe they are capable of doing anything they want.
Despite so many hardships, my students come to class every day and are eager to learn and do their best.
My Project
My students will use the plastic bags to put in a variety of books to take home every day for homework. My students do not have books at home and we are wanting to create a mobile library. The metal stand will make it easy to organize them when students return them back to school. It will allow me to have it all set up for them before dismissal. I will use the colored dots to distinguish the books from the different reading levels so that it will be easier at checkout. Each book will have a checkout card glued to it so that student are able to write their names and date of checkout.
This will be an awesome way to increase literacy in my classroom in an engaging way.
The students will be able to choose a book of their interest and level to take home for homework.
This will also be part of my parent involvement plan where parents will also be working with the student on their homework and both reflecting.
