My students need a mobile computer lab with 30 Samsung Chromebook computers, a mobile computer storage cart with outlets to support the computers, and computer operating software.
My students love to learn and explore new information. Every day I see new examples of their passion for learning as they strive to do their best.
We are a K-12 public charter school in Utah.
We are an excelling Title I school with over 40 percent of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunches. As a school, we excel annually, testing as one of the top schools in the state on standardized tests. We do more with less, and we are proud of it. My students are eager to learn, and it shows!
My Project
My students need a mobile computer lab with 30 Samsung Chromebook computers, a mobile computer storage cart with outlets to support the computers, and computer operating software. A mobile computer lab would include a cart that can be moved among the fifth grade classrooms that holds enough laptops for a classroom of students. This will allow all the fifth grade classrooms access to computers when they need them.
It will provide my students, as well as the rest of the fifth grade students, the opportunity to expand their knowledge in every subject. They will use the computers for research, to create polished reports and projects, and to work together with other students on group activities.
This mobile computer lab will expand student opportunities for learning by providing information through the use of programs that may otherwise not have been available to them.
It will also help them develop their typing and computer technology skills. Not all students have computers at home. Their exposure to them at school will better prepare them for the future in many ways.
