This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a small charter school that serves students in grades 6-12. We have an incredibly amazing and diverse population, which makes this school very special. Over 80% of our students are on free or reduced lunch and come from low Socio-economic backgrounds. Motivating our students and getting them to participate in school events and community events has been a challenge but my diverse students feel they can make a difference.
Technology is an essential component to daily living in the 21st Century.
From basic communication, to research and travel, technology dominates most aspects of our daily lives. If our Socio-Economic lifestyle prohibits and limits our exposure to innovative technology, our ability to compete and succeed in the modern workplace will be greatly affected in a negative manner.
My Project
The five laptops we are asking for will provide my students the resources and tools needed to be successful in my class. During the last quarter of the year, we will be implementing a financial component in my class.
The students will use the laptops to learn about savings, checking, investments and other business and financial components.
We will be using several online websites and resources to learn about the above-mentioned. They will do research on the laptops and will be able to create their presentations on the laptops as well.
These laptops will really make this project come to life.
