Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Mixed Media Art Class will give my students the opportunity to work with a variety of materials and learn new skills in crafting (crochet, weaving, & sewing), which usually isn't offered at our school due to limitations with our supply budget. I will create lessons in crafts that will expose students to multi-cultural & traditional arts. Learning new techniques, my students will be able to expand their portfolios as they prepare to apply to arts colleges.
The students at our high school come from the entire county, we are an inter-district magnet arts high school in a urban center.
