I teach in a low socioeconomic district. We are currently undergoing a budget crisis and funds have been cut in many areas. I teach primarily freshmen and a variety of Family Consumer Science courses.
I am a new teacher. I have moved 1,000 miles to teach at this school. I entered a classroom that needs many new materials and equipment. I have three kitchens and two mixers. I also have a minimum of 15 students in each class. So, I have more students then resources.
In order to prepare food, the students need a stand mixer. This aids in the preparation of food and culinary careers. This mixer will benefit this class, as well as the future Food & Nutrition classes.
Please help me make a difference in students' lives by providing them with current technologies for the classroom. Additionally, this equipment will enable lessons that will plan the seed for making healthy choices in college and in life. Your funding and generosity will be put to good use in my classroom!
