My students have been through or faced some type of traumatic event during their young life but they are so innovative and bright. They thrive on structure and routine which have all been taken away from them during this pandemic.
Most of my students don't have the ability to learn online.
Most of my students depend on work packets that have been mailed to their homes by the school district and some depend on the individualized work that I send them in the mail weekly. Despite everything going on in their life they still want to learn.
My Project
The items requested for this project will be used to give my students resources for home and distance learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic. With your help I would like each one of my students to receive a book of their own as many do not have books readily available to them at home.
My students will use the books to read to me during our on on one time.
The snacks will be used to help fill their bellies as many of my students come from low income households. During this time I would also like to continue teaching my students about the life cycles of ladybugs and ants. As this will look differently from what my students would be used to seeing. I will take pictures and videos of the life cycle and either send them to their parents through email, mail, or text. I will also post them in google classroom and read the life cycle books to my students.
This will make my students' hearts feel happy as I will deliver a gift bag to each one, filled with a new book of their own, a journal to write in, some snacks, and pencils.
