My Students

I am a first year teacher and will be gaining 25-30 fabulous students for this upcoming school year! While I don't have my class list yet, I can't wait to meet them and help them grow to the person they always dreamed they could be! I will be teaching at an elementary school as a 5th grade teacher! My students come from various urban and suburban neighborhoods.

My Project

My goal as a first year teacher is to build a library that looks like all of my students. I hope to create a multi-cultural library space where my students can read books with characters, and written by authors that look like them. The students would benefit from these resources by being able to strengthen their reading skills and comprehension, through texts that represent people of different cultures, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, lifestyles and places of residences from around the world. My goal is to teach every student that they belong and can succeed at anything they put their mind to through texts.
