Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Altough the items in our project seem random, each item will make a difference in my student's learning. I am a second year teacher, who is still building her classroom resources and collecting many materials through my experiences. In my room, we are constantly doing hands-on activities and need magnets that will hold student projects on the whiteboard and the paper sleeves are a great way to showcase their work on my board. With these activities, the rolling cart would help provide organization while keeping student project materials in an accessible area. Second grade students rely on snacks to get them throughout the day, as they have moments of high energy and very low energy. In order for students to learn, the need to have energy and a full belly. At times, students do not enjoy their school lunch or forget to eat breakfast, snacks are what save us in those moments. In our classroom, we do a ton of science activities such as helping the local community garden, planting seeds for each student, and learning about the native plants outside of our classroom door! The hydroponics kit would be a wonderful addition to our science units, and would create such a fun learning experience. Every item on this list is valuable and meaningful to our classroom. Any help that I receive is greatly appreciated!
