My Project
My name is Señorita Solveson and I am a high school Spanish teacher in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My students are creative, curious learners who enjoy acquiring language through stories. For this reason, we are working to build a classroom library that will incentivize reading and promote literacy in Spanish. Your donation could help us achieve this.
This set of readers would be used to create a Spanish reading nook (una rincón de lectura) where students could cool down, read for pleasure and learn Spanish through meaningful short stories.
It is my intention to build reading into their routines and have it be something enjoyable. Having an expansive set of readers also allows for students to choose titles based on their interests and prior knowledge. Over all, these books could totally empower some burgeoning language-learners!
