My Students
I have the incredible honor of working with a dynamic group of hard working girls. Every day I am incredibly inspired and motivated by them.
My class consists of 25 amazing kindergarten scholars.
Most of my students receive free and reduced lunch, and some come from households where English is not spoken. They all come from different circumstances and some face incredible hardships that might deter others from learning. However, my students continually demonstrate a love for learning and a sense of resiliency every day that inspires me to be the best teacher I can be.
My Project
These materials will help my students by serving as mirrors and windows through literature! We all know that representation matters - and these books so perfectly represent my diverse class of Kindergarten students!
More importantly, this selection of books will serve as a kickstarter towards finding joy in reading!
I've selected a group of texts that will excite, enthuse, and inspire students to find their best friends in texts!
Windows, mirrors, and joy are the three key elements for sparking joy in reading from a young age! This book list will inspire that joy and more in my girls!
