My Students

I am the a teacher at an elementary school in an impoverished suburban area. My students are an inquisitive bunch with a variety of languages and backgrounds represented in our class of 22 students. Most of my students are English language learners diverse backgrounds with rich cultures.

My students are inquisitive, joyful learners who enjoy coming to school each day and look forward to all the fun that we have in class.

They are always eager to learn and never shy away from a challenge. Even though most of them struggle academically. they try their best each day and help each other succeed. I am proud of the progress they have made so far this school year.

My Project

Since the school library hours are very limited, my class library is an essential resource for my students. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on our class library to check out books. Because of this, the shelves tend to be almost empty by the end of each day.

I love the excitement and joy that books bring into our classroom, especially when students find a book that they can relate to.

I want to continue to broaden their worldview and grow their love of reading with more books that reflect the diversity within our class.
