My Project
The arcade photo booth will be a powerful and creative tool to celebrate students and staff who demonstrate acts of kindness within our school community. Each time someone is "caught being kind," they will have the opportunity to take a photo in the booth turning a positive moment into a lasting memory.
These photos will be printed as sticker labels and used to personalize and decorate the Kindness Kits we are assembling, which will include hygiene products collected from students, staff, and families- The finished kits, featuring pictures of our students and staff, will be distributed to local homeless shelters, showing that each act of kindness truly makes a difference.
In addition, the photo booth will be used to send holiday and inspirational messages to our military men and women. Students will take themed photos and write heartfelt messages that will accompany care packages or cards, helping them connect with those who serve and spreading compassion beyond our school walls.
This initiative is student-led, giving our student team ownership of the entire process from operating the photo booth and organizing supplies, to designing labels and packing kits. This leadership opportunity will strengthen their communication, planning, and organizational skills while building empathy and a sense of purpose.
Our STEM class will play an integral role in the project by incorporating the photo booth into lessons on design, technology, and digital communication. Students will explore how the booth works, create personalized sticker labels using digital editing tools, and even help maintain and troubleshoot the booth. This blends creativity with technical skills, showing students how STEM can support meaningful, real-world impact through kindness.
Our student led teams will teach acts of kindness as present being the "I" in kind daily.
