This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, heart, and commitment to doing their best—especially during testing season. Despite their challenges outside of school, they continue to show up and give their all. I want to support that effort with meaningful rewards encouraging focus and perseverance.

Students can find it challenging to stay alert and motivated during long testing sessions.

The peppermint treats in this project are a simple way to help students refresh, refocus, and feel cared for. Research has shown that peppermint can help with concentration, and more importantly, students appreciate the gesture—it reminds them that someone believes in their success.

These tiny treats can make a big difference in boosting morale and helping students push through moments of mental fatigue. Every peppermint is a little “you’ve got this!” when they need encouragement the most.
