Mint-to-be Flexible Seating Lap Tables

My students need lap desks for flexible seating. My students learn so much better when they are comfortable, but it can be difficult to offer flexible options in a HS classroom. These laptables would be perfect!

My Students

My school is one of the most diverse campuses in the area. In a single classroom I might have a student with a parent who works at Apple, a student who has only been in the country a short while, a student who has recently become homeless, or a student that has two parents that work two to three jobs just to keep food on the table. What I love the most about these students is how they are so accepting and open with one another despite their differences.

My Project

I've noticed that my students do so much better when they feel comfortable in the classroom and their individuality is honored. These laptop lap tables would be a game changer in my classroom. One of the coolest things about my classroom is that it has a ton of windows and two doors that open up to a beautiful lawn outside. These lap tables would really support my students when they go sit on that lawn to do their group work. I get really excited thinking about my freshmen getting pumped to be outside while they work on deciding whether Lenny deserved to die or my AP students analyzing a speech from MLK. It can be so difficult to offer high school students flexible seating because of the big desks and these compact tables would be amazing as I support my students and honor their individual needs.
