My Project
I teach robotics where we go through engineering design process. We learn about ratio, scale, model and prototype as we go through the 9 steps of the design process. I want to create a hands-on learning through making miniature rooms where they have to define the theme, be the architect and follow their blueprint. Many of my students come from low-income and minority backgrounds and rarely have access to supplies to be creative. Inside the classroom, their curiosity shines brightest when they're allowed to build, experiment, and problem-solve. These materials - 3D filament, cotton balls, pens, scissors, rulers, and more - will allow them to use recyclable materials and classroom supplies to transform a miniature room into a visual connection to engineering vocabulary.
Our classroom is a innovative space filled with creative energy, but our supplies are limited.
With your support, we can provide my students with equitable access to the tools they need to create scaled down furniture, accessories and outfit their miniature room, showcasing their culture and heritage as they focus on newly gained vocabulary.
