Help me give my students desk pets (animal erasers), pet home (storage containers), punch cards (behavior tracker), and habitat stickers as a positive motivation for classroom effort and behavior.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
They are only in second grade but responsibility is such a big part of the real world that why not introduce it in a fun way. Students will be responsible for their behavior, classroom work, and home learning. This will allow them to earn their desk pets, pet food, homes, and décor.
As much as students are required to learn throughout the year I think they also deserve some fun while doing so.
My students are smart and kind these desk pets will mean the world to them once they have them.
These materials will give them a sense of responsibility not only for their behavior but for their desk pet. The storage containers will serve as homes for their pet which they must keep clean and in one piece. The stickers will allow for their creativity to come thru as they earn them to decorate their pets habitat.
